The first thing, blog is a collection of posts or articles written on particular topics based on the theme of the blog. New articles are published at regular intervals. In other words, a blog is a type of book in the form of a website, that is super advance. It is updated. Multiple authors may write on it. Readers can interact with the writer as well. You can follow the blogs, read them anytime, anywhere. On the other hand website may or may not be updated regularly. A website may simply of any kind, may be controlled by anyone for any purpose. The biggest example, Google is website used as a search engine while Myfreshtipz, where you are reading on is a blog which publish posts about latest tips and tricks about Internet, Blogging, Technology etc. You may easily came to know what is a blog and what is a website, when begin with blogging.

The requirements to start blogging are quite easy to fulfil. The first requirement is a blog. The requirements to make a blog are quite same as to make a website. One of the important thing that you must know here. Blogging is Free? It may or may not. There are many platforms like Blogger.com (Blogspot) and Wordpress.com, which allows you to make free blogs with their sub domains. But we all know free services have some limitations. A serious blogger can't use the free services. But to make a blog with some professionality is not at all costly. Its very cheap and simple but depends upon what type of blog you want. The foremost requirement to make a blog are given below:
- Web Hosting (Costs about $3-$20/month depending upon the requirements)
- Domain Name (Cost of various domains varies)
- Blog Publishing Platform (The most popular platform Wordpress.org is Free)
These are just the foremost requirements. Further to run the blog there are some additional requirements like: Template, Plug ins, Various Tools etc. Wordpress provides all these things. These things may be free or at cost, once again depends upon your requirements.
While on the other hand if you choose a free blog publishing platform like Blogger, you need not to buy hosting. The Blogger provides you blogs with sub domain with extension '.blogspot.com'. For example: myfreshtipz.blogspot.com. But these type of domains does not suits well if compared to the professional domains like myfreshtipz.com. But now you can use custom domain names on Blogger. That means you can separately purchase a domain that is of professional type and can use it as you Blogger's blog domain name. This is one of biggest features of Blogger.

How to start a blog?
Let us know to start your own blog. As already discussed about the requirements for making a blog, now in order to make a blog we need to fulfil these requirements. Before you make a blog, you have two options.
- Make a free Blog with free services.
- Make your self-hosted blog at some cost.
Making a free blog is quite simple. There are many platforms which offer free Blog with sub domains. The most popular of them are Blogger.com (By Google) and WordPress.com. Here first I am going to guide you how you can make a free blog with Blogger.com. You need a Google Account to make a blog with Blogger.
- Go to Blogger.com
- Sign in with your Google Account.
- It may ask you to choose a profile, whether you want to go with a simple Blogger profile or to use your Google+ profile.
- After that your Blogger Platform Home Screen will be open. Click on "New Blog" to make a blog.
- A window will be open asking you about choosing the Name and domain of your blog. Here you need to choose a name with sub domain ".blogspot.com".
- Once you complete these steps, your blog will be listed in your Blogger Home page. Click on that to go to the Dashboard of your blog where you can manage your Blog.

The second option. Make a self-hosted blog. This option is preferred by all bloggers who are serious about blogging. Let us learn how to make a self-hosted WordPress blog. The steps are:-
- Purchase Hosting and Domain Name.
- Install WordPress on your Hosting. Many services offer one click WordPress installation. Wordpress is free.
- Once you install Wordpress successfully, you can login into your Blog's Dashboard where you can manage your Blog.

So, you made a blog and want to start writing. Let us learn the basics of writing posts on your Blog. You don't need to have any special knowledge about HTML or other kind of Web designing languages. Almost all Blog Publishing platform provides a simple text editor with all the required formatting options to write up posts for your blog.
