20+ SEO Tips for Blogger

Hello everyone, This is a awesome post about top 20+ SEO tips for Blogger. I have been searching on the web for SEO tips and tricks for Blogger blogs from the last few months. I read a lot of posts and reviews about Blogger and SEO. Initially I think it is very hard to perfectly SEO optimize Blogger blogs for the search engines to get high traffic, but not now. Now for me, it is as easy as ABC. In the recent few days I have seen a huge response in my blog's performance and I think it happens only because of SEO.

So, lets get started. As I previously said that I searched the web for Blogger Tips and Tricks. I read hundreds of post. So what I have learnt from these posts? Actually a lot. Different posts by different people recommend different ways to optimize the Blogger blog. Its a little bit difficult for a person to choose with which to go. So what I did? I try various methods with my own style and truly these methods really works for me. Let me tell you these methods (or you may say SEO tips for Blogger one by one.

SEO Tips for Blogger

Here are the 20+ Tips which can really help you to SEO optimize your Blogger Blog.

• Add Search Description to each blog post. Add keywords in this description as it will help to rank your blog's post in the search engine results when any body search a particular keyword. This description appears below your post in the search results.
• Add Labels or Tags to your blog's Post. This will help your blog's post to be sorted in various categories and the search engine Google shows up these labels or Tags in the permalink of your post result.
• Use keywords in the post body. This is one of the best way to get your post in the top search results. Use keywords in various manners like asking questions in the post. For example, you are writing a post about SEO, use keywords like Search Engine, Google, Blogging, Blogger Tips and Tricks, Best ways for SEO, Optimize blog posts etc. Noticed that how many keywords I have used in this post?
• Use Custom Permalink. Add Keywords to the permalink. Make sure the permalink is sweet and short. For Example: By default the permalink of a post with title "How to optimize your Blogger Blog" is http://www.myfreshtipz.com/2015/07/how-to-optimize-your-blogger-blog.html/ Make it simple and catchy as like http://www.myfreshtipz.com/2015/07/optimize-blogger-blog.html/
• Use Long Tail Keywords. This is one of the thing that many bloggers ignore. Using long tail keywords you can easily rank your blog's post in the top pages of the search results.
• Add Meta Description. Add custom meta description for your blog. This description will show up in the search results under the link of homepage your blog. So write it carefully. To add meta description in blogger to to Dashboard > Settings > search preferences. Under this tab you will find Meta Tags under which you have a option to edit the Description. Click on edit to add a description of your own, it must be less than 150 characters.
• Use Heading Tags in the post. Use of Heading tags like subheading tag, minor heading tag, simply heading tag can help in SEO to a great extent. The option to use these tags in Blogger editor is present in the top toolbar, right next to Text Size option.
• Use Mobile-friendly Template. We all know the web is now in its modern stage. Now more and more people are connecting to the web from various devices. In the last few years, mobile traffic share is increased by 30%. So, the search engines are also giving preference. Most of the sites in the top results are mobile-friendly as search engine prefer them. Make sure you too have a mobile friendly template. In blogger, you can use mobile templates. This option is available in Dashboard > Template.

• Select a SEO friendly Template. This also matters, As after updating my blog's template to a SEO ready Minima Colered 3 Template, I have seen a great improvement in blog's performance as well as ranking in the search engine. This also helps me to reduce some of the errors.
• Organize the posts for easy Navigation. As previously suggested use Labels to organize your posts well. Arrange them in such a way that anybody can navigate through any post easily. This will also help the search engine to organize the posts for search engine results too.
• Use Smart and Cathy Titles. Here by smart, I mean the smartly and wisely chosen titles. Use of  long tail keywords in the Title will help to dramatically increase your rankings in the search engine. Your Title must be a combination of keywords as well as Catchy terms which attracts people.
• Improve your Blog's loading time. Everybody loves to visit a blog that loads up fast. Search engine also give preference in this regard. Make sure, everything on your blog is loading up fast on all devices. You can use some online tools to find out your blog's loading time and can also improve it.
• Add Images in Posts. Adding images really makes your posts impression double. Images also urge the visitors to stay on the post and read it. Thus also helps in SEO if you properly use them like placing them at the right place and using Alt Tags with them. Images speaks hundreds of words.
• Write more words. Write posts with more than 500 words. It is seen that Google search shows up the posts in the top results, having more length.

• Internal Linking of your Posts. This is good way to increase your page views. Add links of your other related blog's post within a post. This will also help the visitors to encourage more with your blog and also increases your page views and indirectly this will help in SEO of your blog.
• Format your posts. Format your posts properly by using lists, lists, bullets, quotes etc. Use Grammar Mistakes Checker Tool which is built in the Blogger's Editor. (ABC and green coloured tick)
• Post more frequently. Posting more frequently is always a good idea to make search engine attracted towards your blog. The more you post, more your blog will be noticed by the search engine and Hence helps in SEO. Publishing a post a day is a good frequency.
• Custom Domain. You can use professional domains like .com, .org, .net etc. with you blogger blogs. As domain name matters in SEO, so a good custom domain may help your blog to get a good position in the search engine results.
• Encourage users to Comment on the post. The value of posts with more number of comments is more. So, make your posts such like that to get more and more comments. Ask in the post about the their (visitor's) views, ideas or advice etc. This is a great way to get more comments.
• Submit your Blog to Webmaster Tools. Search Engines like Google offer Webmaster Tools in which you can submit your blog. This will index your website in the Search Engine. Add a sitemap of your blog in it. Webmaster tools will help you to Index your posts early in the Search Engine. You can keep an eye on your Keywords and Search Analytics using these tools.
