When a visitor, click on that link and make a purchase of the product offered by the company or organization, the affiliate will be paid some commission. As I mentioned, the affiliate link is unique for every affiliate. The company or organization which offered the affiliate program, track the sales through the affiliate by tracking the affiliate link. Thus in this way, Affiliate Marketing Works.

Affiliate: The person who joins a affiliate program is said to be a affiliate.

Affiliate Marketplace: It is a hub, in which an affiliate can join various affiliate programs at one place. In this, the affiliate programs offered by various companies or organization are managed by the Affiliate Marketplaces.

Affiliate Links and Affiliate ID: The unique links given to the affiliates by the affiliate programs in order to promote their products are called as Affiliate Links. When, visitors make purchases through these links and we earn commissions. Affiliate ID is also a unique ID given to every unique Visitor, this may also help in tracking the sales.

Coupons: Some affiliate programs like Webhosting affiliate programs offer a option to create your own custom coupon codes, by using which you can offer discounts to you readers. For example, In order to attract a reader towards your promotion, you can create custom coupons and can offer discount to them. The coupon you'll create will also be unique and it is also used for your sales tracking.

Affiliate Commissions: As already discussed, you will get some amount of money when you sell a product. This amount is called commission. This is not at all necessary that you must have a blog or website, in order to promote a product. But If you want to earn well, you need a blog. Here below I have listed some of the ways commonly used by the bloggers to promote affiliate products.

• Writing Review posts about affiliate products. Add affiliate link inside the post, attract users to buy the product through that affiliate link in order to get some discount, features etc.
• Adding Banners in your blog. Adding a banners pointing the affiliate link is also one of the best method of promotion as these banners attract the readers.
• Giving Recommendations. You can give recommendations to your readers to a few useful and beneficial affiliate products.
• Some of the other methods are: Email Marketing, Suggestions etc.
