Hello this is the seventh post of our blogging guide series. In this we will briefly take an overview of two most popular blogging platforms that are blogger and wordpress. Let's get started.

Blogger.com: Blogger, also called blogspot is a free blogging service by Google. It allows you to create blogs under a subdomain, '.blogspot.com' for free. Let us first talk about the major features of blogger. The best thing is its free. You can make a number of blogs on blogger. Its user interface and environment us very nice, clean and easy to use. You have the full options to customize your blog. You can choose many free themes included in blogger or may upload your own template. You can write, design or edit posts, pages or comments easily. One more thing, your blogger account is linked with your google account. If you have a google account you can make a blogger account easily. Blogger has other options like, multiple author support, custom design, template or even you can choose various layouts, fonts, colours, widgets for your blog. Blogger can show you real time traffic stats for your blog with all necessary details. These features of blogger are better than all other services. It's best to choose blogger as publishing platform for new bloggers. You will not find any difficulty in using the service. Most of the beginners choose blogger as their blog publishing platform. If you demand more, you can buy your own custom domain from any service and then use it for your blogger blog. We will soon post a complete post on blogger in this series.

Wordpress.org /.com: When you search Google as 'Wordpress', you will find two major sites, one is wordpress.org and wordpress.com. Let me tell you about both these. Wordpress.com is a blogging service in which you have two options. One is that you can make a free blog under a subdomain '.wordpress.com' with limited features only while the other option is at cost provides you professional domain and more features.
The wordpress publishing platform which we are talking about is Wordpress.org. This is for the people who take blogging as a serious thing. In this service you must have your own domain name and hosting, i.e. you have to buy your own domain and hosting service at cost. Once you have both these, you can use wordpress.org as publishing platform. Now, come to the features of Wordpress. It is the service recommended by most of the professional bloggers. It has all the required features. The best thing is the wordpress blog is complete controlled by you. Its completely yours. You can do whatever you like. It is supported and trusted by thousands. You can customize your blog from every point. While using wordpress , you are fully supported. When new bloggers think that they may go high now, they choose wordpress.
